I thought I had put together my final programme for Prescot Cables. However, a late, late equaliser at the Millbank Linnets Stadium denied the Pesky Bulls a win in their Buildbase FA Trophy tie at Runcorn Linnets.

This meant that a programme would be required at short order; the replay would take place just three days after the initial meeting of the clubs. The long-term future of The Walloper has yet to be settled and Club Secretary Matt Roberts was getting married on the Sunday. It was Matt who got in touch with me to check whether a programme was required and I couldn’t let my friends and colleagues down/

So, here is one last edition. It was literally thrown together in a few hours on the Sunday. I had some timely copy in the bank thanks to Roy McDonald, who had written superbly about Cables’ most recent appearance in the First Round Proper of The FA Cup: this match fell two days before the 60th anniversary of the game.

I also had some copy from The Non-League Paper available and Linnets sent their information promptly, but I may have accidentally repeated the puzzle on the Kids Korner page. C’est la vie; I got the opportunity to sign off on my own terms and I helped the club in their hour of need.
